Galvanized Steel Vinyl Coated Wire Rope, 3/16" Cable Diameter, 10' Length, 4200 lbs Breaking Strength, 1/4" Coated Outside Diameter, Orange Feature

  • Orange-colored wire rope for ease of recognition
  • Galvanized steel is coated with a thin layer of zinc that protects underlying material from corrosion and provides rust resistance
  • Galvanized steel remains ductile over long work periods, and usually has a higher breaking strength than stainless steel
  • Vinyl [Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)]-coating is a hard, durable plastic that resists most chemicals and has excellent dimensional stability for ease of operation
  • 7x19 strand core is more flexible and fatigue-resistant than 7x7 class construction

Galvanized steel vinyl-coated wire rope with 7x19 standard construction can be used over pulleys, rigging, winches, in exercise equipment, and garage door mechanics. This wire rope has an orange color for ease of recognition. Galvanized steel wire rope is coated with a thin layer of zinc that protects the underlying material from corrosion, and provides rust resistance. This strong material remains ductile over long work periods, and has a higher breaking strength than stainless steel. Vinyl, also called Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), is corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. It resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. It is flexible, and resistant to weather and ultra-violet (UV) rays. Vinyl coating is a hard, durable plastic that resists most chemicals, has excellent dimensional stability, and can be sterilized. It resists oil, absorbs low levels of moisture, and is non-conductive. 7x19 strand core has seven strands of wire rope with nineteen wires in each strand formed helically around a strand core. 7x19 strand core is more flexible and fatigue-resistant than 7x7 class construction.

Wire rope, also called wire cable, is an assembly of wire strands formed helically around a central core. It is used for pulling, lifting, rigging, hoisting, and motion-control applications most commonly found in the manufacturing, marine, oil, mining, fiber-optics, aircraft, automotive accessory, and construction industries. A combination of characteristics including material, finish, construction, diameter, length, and breaking strength combines to give each rope its performance ability. Wire rope materials are selected for properties such as strength, elasticity, conductivity, and chemical- and weather-resistance. For strength purposes, most wire rope is made of bright (uncoated or bare) wire. However, it is also produced in a variety of finishes, such as polypropylene (PE), vinyl (PVC), or nylon. These coatings can increase overall durability and strength, and allow for specific use. The breaking strength for wire rope is the strength at which new wire rope will fail under a stationary load. Breaking strength is not considered safe working load (SWL) limit.

Mazzella 6 X 25 IWRC Swage Wire Rope Mechanical Splice Sling with Standard 10" Eyes, 5/8" Rope Dia x 12' L, Load Capacity 7800 lbs Vertical, 5800 lbs Choker, 15600 lbs Basket Feature

  • Higher rated capacity than hand-spliced sling
  • Rated capacities basket hitch based on d/d ratio of 25, rated capacities based on pin diameter no larger than natural eye width or less that the nominal sling diameter
  • Rated capacities based on design factor of 5, sling angles less than 30 degrees shall not be used
  • Conforms to OSHA and ASME B30.15
Eyes are formed using the flemish eye splice. Ends are secured by pressing a metal sleeve over the ends of the strands of the splice. Pull is directly along the centerline of rope and eye. Gives most efficient use of rope capacity and is economical. Warning: wire rope will fail if worn, cut, overloaded, misused, damaged improperly maintained or abused, wire rope failure may cause serious death or injury, protect yourself and others. Always inspect wire rope for wear, damage, or abuse before each use.

  • Corrosion Resistant
Stainless Steel is a large and widely used family of Iron-Chromium Alloys. Stainless Steels are alloys of iron and carbon that contain between 12 and 30 percent Chromium, plus other alloying elements. The chromium, which helps develop a passive surface oxide film, provides corrosion resistance in stainless steels. Stainless Steels are wrought or cast and consist of several families that are named for their metallurgical structure. Stainless Steels are fabricated and welded by all common processes and are used for their corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, scaling resistance, and low-temperature toughness. These properties account for their extremely wide use in practically every industry. Density is .29 lbs./in3 for 300 series. Most stainless steel products in this catalog are of type 300 series. Formability is unusually good, and cold working results in increased strength. These alloys are non-magnetic in the annealed condition, although some may become slightly magnetic after cold working. They can be hardened only by cold working, and not by heat treatment. Stainless Steel 18-8 denotes 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel. Welding characteristics are very good. Widely used in marine environments and in applications which require exposure to acetic acid compounds, and other chemical corrosives. Multiple wire strands, cables and wire ropes are actually machines. Each component wire and strand physically adjusts to contribute to the cable or wire ropes load bearing capacity. Generally the more wires in a strand, cable or wire rope the more flexible it behaves. A typical Loos and Co. product is 7x19 cable. In this cable there are seven strands of nineteen wires each, (7x19=133). There are 133 wires working together as a machine in this particular construction. Each application has a construction best suited for it.

Phosphor Bronze Wire Rope, 6 x 42 Strands, 1/4" OD, 10' Length, 1350 lbs Breaking Strength Feature

  • Phosphorous bronze
C544 Phosphor Bronze is a Copper alloy with tin as the principal alloying material rather than zinc. When polished, bronze develops a beautiful golden finish. A typical 80-20 bronze would have an approximate density of 0.315 lb/in3 and have a melting point of approx. 1868F (1020C). Ductility decreases rapidly with the increase of tin in the alloy mix. Phosphor bronze has a tin content of 1.25 to 10 percent, and possesses excellent cold-working and mechanical properties. Multiple wire strands, cables and wire ropes are actually machines. Each component wire and strand physically adjusts to contribute to the cable or wire ropes load bearing capacity. Generally the more wires in a strand, cable or wire rope the more flexible it behaves. While it is about the most flexible wire rope made it has a comparatively low breaking strength and should never be subjected to severe abrasion. 6 x 42 Fiber Core is the most flexible rope of all the six-strand constructions. However, it is not as strong or abrasion resistant as the others.
